Answer Key -Free and Printable IQ Sample Questions - 21-32

21.D. 25 mm. If 2,000,000 nanometers (nm) is equal to 2 millimeters (mm), then 25,000,000 nm must be equal to 25 millimeters (mm) as the relationship is one-to-one, 1 nm is equal to 1 mm.

22.B. False. "I" is not a consonant.

23.C = 1. One fifth (1 / 5) of 200 = 0.2 x 200 = 40. One tenth (1 / 10) of 40 = 0.1 x 40 = 4. One quarter (1 / 4) of 4 = 0.25 x 4 = 1.

24.D. East. The first spin ends facing east. The second spin does a 360 degree turn twice, which brings you back facing east.

25.D. The figure is flipped horizontally.

26.B. False. The order listed is from tallest to shortest.

27.E. Egypt.

28.C. If you chose A, you may not have seen the overlap pattern. The three circles on the right are below the biggest, middle circle, whereas the circles on the left are above.

29.D. All three methods work.

A - Fill the 3 gallon jug. Dump half of 3. (This can be accomplished by pouring until the water line goes diagonally from the bottom edge of the open end of the bucket to the top edge of the closed end). Now you have 1.5 gallons in 3. Fill 5. Get half of 5 as done above. Now have 2.5 in 5. Pour the 1.5 from 3 into 5.

B - Fill the 3 gallon jug. Pour it into the 5 gallon jug twice. Once the jug fills to 5 gallons, don't let it overflow and then you have 1 gallon in the 3 gallon jug. Dump the water out of the 5 gallon jug. Pour the 1 gallon left from the 3 gallon jug into the 5 gallon jug. Refill the 3 gallon jug and pour the 3 gallons into the 5 gallon jug making 4 gallons.

C - Fill the 5 gallon jug. Pour all but 2 gallons into the 3 gallon jug. Empty the 3 gallon jug. Put the 2 remaining gallons from the 5 gallon jug into the 3 gallon jug. Fill 5. Pour 1 gallon from the 5 gallon jug by filling the 3 gallon jug. The 5 gallon jug now contains 4 gallons.

30.D. The figure is reversed. The second and last figures are mirror images of the first and third figures. The slight angle is meaningless in this case.

31.B. 11. The third row follows the first row's incremental sequence (subtract 5), not the second row's sequence (add 4).

32.C. 7. Subtract the sum of the numbers to the right and left of the diamond from the sum of the numbers above and below the diamond to find the number in the middle.
